Step 1

Connect a cable.

Power on the NerdQaxe++ and connect a USB-C cable from the screen into your computer.

Step 2

Open Chrome.

Visit the ESP-Tool website click here. Use Chrome to do this. Then press Connect

Step 3

Select JTAG.

There will be a small box that pops up. You are looking for a JTAG / Serial option. Select it and press connect.

Step 4

Verify you connected.

Below you should see a black box with a bunch of writing. It should be similar to this. If you don't see it detecting a chip it most likely did not work, try another serial option in the list.

"Detecting chip type... ESP32-S3"
"Crystal is 40MHz"

Step 5

Change Flash Address.

This is VERY important! Change the Flash address from "0x1000" to "0x0000". If you forget this step the device won't work correctly.

Step 6

Download the factory firmware.

Visit HERE. Download the NerdQaxe++ "esp-miner-factory.bin" File.

Step 7

Upload the File.

Press choose file, select the downloaded NerdQaxe esp file we just downloaded. Then press program. Go to the next step.

Step 8

Wait.

In the black box you will see its starting to write data. Wait till you see "Hard resetting via RTS pin..." This happens after 100% and some final checks. Then reboot the unit and remove the USB-C cable from the screen.

Your unit should be back to stock now.
