Bitaxe Solo Mining Setup Guide

Bitaxe Solo Mining Setup Guide

This will show you how to setup and solo mine BTC on your bitaxe! While solo mining you earn all(~3 BTC) or nothing. You can check your mining odds here: Moken Asics Calculator

1) Plug the power cable into the Bitaxe first. Then plug it into the wall.

2) Wait a minute for the Bitaxe to boot up. Then open your phone and connect to the Bitaxe wifi network that it created.

3) In the captive portal that comes up, connect the Bitaxe to your wifi network. It only supports 2.4GHz, you can press the magnifying glass to search the wifi networks or type it yourself. You can keep your hostname to Bitaxe, or change it to what ever you wish so it's easier to remember when you see devices in your network.

4) When done, press Save then Restart. You will see some confirmations and be reconnected to your main wifi network.

5) Wait for the Bitaxe to boot up and look at its display. It rotates through a couple screens, eventually you will see your device IP address(Yours will be different). Go to it in the browser.

6) Once you are in the interface. Click on Pool in the sidebar.

7) To keep this simple, we are going to use SoloCK pool. There are a bunch of pools out there you can choose from that have different features and fees. This is the simplest because it doesn't require an account.

In the pool Configuration set the following:

Stratum host: solo.ckpool.org
Stratum port: 3333
Password: x (The password is really just x)

Do the same for the fallback pool config too.

8) We didn't fill in the user yet. The username is like this:

<your bitcoin wallet address>.<devicename>
For example:
bc1pfng0esd5eg2qafmfa0.bitaxegammagekko

We choose to name it bitaxegammagekko, because this unit is a bitaxegamma Gekko edition. You can name it what ever you wish to help you keep track of your devices.

The bitcoin wallet address is very important that its yours. Because if you Mine a block the bitcoins will be sent to that address! If you don't have a bitcoin wallet, you can download Phantom.

So fill in the user for both sections.

9) Press Save and Restart.

10) The setup is done. You can view statistics about your mining progress here: https://solostats.ckpool.org/

Paste your bitcoin wallet address in the top right search box.

If you mine a bitcoin block the coins will be sent to your wallet. So be sure to check every once in awhile in your wallet app!
