Wingbits Community: Bullish or Bearish?

19–0. That’s what the community voted. We surveyed some of the top deployers, and every single one weighed in the same way. Here’s what they said about Wingbits — and why it matters.

Xrave—one of the most knowledgeable deployers in the space—also weighed in. With over 150 miners under management, he’s earned top badges: placing in the top 1% for Geodnet and the top 5% for Hivemapper, ROVR, and more when it comes to earnings.

Here’s what he had to say about why he’s bullish on Wingbits:
  1. Price of the serivce; unlike other companies who need to install receivers and stations, the depin method should in theory achieve a cheaper cost of implementation, and a larger overall network coverage

  2. Location validation, specifically for the MGW310 stations. Having the on-board Geodnet RTK location verification allows Wingbits to offer a dataset with verified/foolproof data, unless people who might spoof data and feed it into flightradar24. "

Another large deployer, FreeShkreli who operates over 100 Helium miners, shared his view. He said he isn’t sure if the data Wingbits is providing will ever reach the mainstream, but he continues to mine Wingbits nonetheless:
" I’m a private pilot and have followed this tech casually for years before Wingbits lauched, though not as deeply as you based on your background.

I’ve also been skeptical because this same data is gathered so thoroughly from hobbyists in pre-existing projects. I’m left asking “what can differentiate Wingbits data?”
A smaller deployer, eye4detail, who operates just 5 miners, also sees huge potential. Here’s what he had to say:
"This has a HUUUUGGGGEEEE commercial application that companies can subscribe to for real time data that is not filtered. Other providers may delay and filter the data sent to commercial subscribers. This can also compensate as a backup for mainframe systems in case of downtime. Multiple network platforms can reduce risk of network outages by having other networks operational and coverage overly between antenna stations"
Another smaller deployer, UFO, also weighed in and believes the market size is fairly big. Here’s his take:
Large companies like FlightRadar24 and FlightAware may have that data but those are not publicly accessible. Also there’s no precedence in Wingbits’ Niche in seems … the industry standard seems to rely heavily on unpaid volunteers in the past.
Google once told me the total size of aviation industry values at ~$6 trillion (not directly flight‑data revenue), flight tracking data makes up about 1% of aviation operations revenue … let’s say if Wingbits could capture 10–20% of this market, it’s still translating into $6–12 billion/year. But I am not sure how DePIN TAM Alignment would factor in here."
