The part that fails first, moved On machines like this the component that goes is almost always the voltage regulator. On the BS-4 the regulators sit on the back of the board, in the path of the fan. Measured at the factory: 53 degrees back there against 62 on the old front mounted layout.

What this is for A desk sized Bitcoin miner that runs quietly, all day, on about 300 watts. It is a way to hold real hashrate at home and take part in the network, not a machine that pays a salary.
Solo mining is a lottery Point it at a pool and it pays steadily and small. Run it solo and it pays in whole blocks or not at all. 22 TH/s buys you a recurring shot. It does not buy you a win, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something.
Difficulty and price both move What any miner earns depends on Bitcoin difficulty and Bitcoin price, and both change. We publish the specs and never quote you a return.
This is a new unit The BS-4 is a current generation design on the BM1373 chip. We have not long term tested it in the field yet, and we will say so plainly rather than imply a track record it has not earned.

How much power does it pull?

About 300 watts at the wall. A Meanwell supply and a mains cord matched to your address come in the box, so there is nothing else to buy to run it.

Is it really water cooled?

Yes. A closed loop block and radiator, not a fan on a heatsink. The chips in this generation run hot and the loop is what keeps them in range.

What is different about the voltage regulators?

They sit on the back of the board instead of the front, so the fan blows across them continuously. The voltage regulator is the component that most often fails on machines in this class, which is the reason for the change.

Do I need my own Bitcoin node?

No. Point it at your own node, at an open solo pool, or at a regular pool for steadier payouts. The payout address is yours either way.

How do I connect it?

Ethernet on board, or WiFi on 2.4 GHz. Plug in the supply, plug in the network, and find it on your router. There is an onboard screen showing hashrate, temperature and shares.
