What you're actually buying

It is the cheapest GekkoScience hashrate yet At $1,200 for 50 TH/s the KBeast is $24 per terahash, well under the KBOX at $36. The Magic Miner 40T is still $16. What you pay the difference for is a finished, quiet, enclosed appliance with the PSU and controller already inside, made in America.
800W is a lot of heat Roughly 800W of electricity goes in and roughly 800W of heat comes out into the room. In winter that replaces a space heater. In summer it needs a room you are happy to warm, or a Low preset.
Mining is a lottery in solo mode Point it at a pool and it pays steadily and small. Run it solo and it pays in whole blocks or not at all. 50 TH/s gives you a real, recurring shot. It does not guarantee one.

Questions people ask

How loud is it?

Speed controlled fans in a fully enclosed case, same design language as the KBOX which meters between 38 and 47 dB depending on preset. The KBeast moves more air at 800W, so expect the High preset to be the loud one and Low to be the quiet one. We will publish a metered number when review units land.

How much power does it pull?

About 800W at the wall at the High preset, less on Medium and Low. That is still an ordinary wall socket on a normal cord, no dedicated circuit.

Do I need a special outlet?

No. The power supply is built in and takes 120 or 240VAC, so it plugs into an ordinary wall socket anywhere in the world with a normal cord. There is an on/off switch on the unit.

How do I set it up?

Plug it in, connect Ethernet or join it to your 2.4 or 5GHz WiFi, open the web page it serves on your network, and enter your pool or solo mining details. The integrated Linux controller handles the rest, with live charts and settings in the browser.

What happens if a fan fails?

Hashing stops. Both fans are monitored and the unit will not run hot with a dead fan. There are also independent fuses on the mains supply and on the hashboard DC bus, software limits on ASIC temperature and a hardware limit on the main voltage regulator.

Is it safe around kids and pets?

The case is fully enclosed steel and aluminium with no exposed electronics, and the faceplate is a 7mm hexagonal grid sized so small fingers cannot get through.
