The History Of BM1373 Bitcoin Home Miners

The home Bitcoin mining market has changed dramatically in 2026, and much of that change can be traced back to one chip: the Bitmain BM1373.

For years, home miners were largely built around older-generation ASIC chips. They were fun, efficient for their size, and great for solo mining, but there was still a substantial performance gap between home mining hardware and the latest industrial machines.

The BM1373 has started closing that gap.

Over the course of the year, we've gone from the first four-chip BM1373 home miner to single-chip desktop miners, open-source designs, dual-chip units, and now upcoming machines targeting 30 TH/s from only six chips.

Nexus S1,  The Miner That Started It

At the beginning of the year, the Nexus S1 arrived and marked an important milestone: one of the first purchasable home miners built around the new BM1373.

Using four BM1373 chips, the S1 delivered roughly 10 TH/s while consuming around 150W at the wall.

Even more impressive was its size. The S1 maintained a form factor similar to miners such as the NerdQaxe while delivering considerably more hashing power.

At approximately $699 USD, it wasn't cheap, but being an early adopter of a new ASIC generation rarely is.

The S1 proved something important: BM1373 could work extremely well in a home-miner form factor.

Nexus later expanded its BM1373 lineup with additional single- and dual-chip designs.

Zyber Blanc BM1373 Miner,  The Designer Option

The Zyber Blanc BM1373 Miner took a completely different approach.

Instead of maximizing hashrate, the Blanc focuses heavily on industrial design and presentation. Its single BM1373 produces around 2.4 TH/s while drawing approximately 25W at the wall.

It's certainly one of the more unique-looking BM1373 miners available.

The downside is price.

At approximately $320 USD, you're paying a significant premium for a single-chip device, and the highly integrated design doesn't leave as much room for the tinkering and modification that many home miners enjoy.

Hammer Thor X1,  3.2 TH/s From One Chip

Hammer entered the BM1373 market with the Thor X1, a compact single-chip miner capable of approximately 3.2 TH/s.

The Thor X1 is particularly interesting because of its extremely compact USB-style form factor.

At around $219 USD, it is considerably less expensive than some competing single-chip BM1373 devices, although buyers should keep in mind that a power supply is not included.

For someone looking for a small BM1373 desktop miner, the Thor X1 represents one of the more interesting entry points into this generation.

Hammer Thor P2,  Two Chips, 10 TH/s

Hammer followed the Thor X1 with something significantly more powerful: the Thor P2.

The P2 uses two BM1373 chips and pushes approximately 10 TH/s, putting it in an entirely different performance category from most small desktop miners.

Power consumption is approximately 166W at the wall, and the unit is designed to operate relatively quietly.

At around $449 USD, the Thor P2 also starts making a strong argument from a pure dollars-per-terahash perspective.

It delivers roughly the same advertised hashrate as the original Nexus S1 while using half as many ASIC chips and coming in at a considerably lower price.

Bitfortun BS-1,  Open Source and 5.5 TH/s

Bitfortun takes a more traditional home-mining approach with the BS-1.

The design will look immediately familiar to anyone who has used miners from the NerdQaxe family. More importantly, the BS-1 is a fully open-source design, which makes it particularly attractive to developers and hardware enthusiasts.

Its single BM1373 is pushed significantly harder than most other one-chip designs, delivering approximately 5.5 TH/s while consuming around 95W at the wall.

At approximately $229 USD, that's a substantial amount of hashrate from a single chip.

The tradeoff is efficiency. Running one chip this aggressively naturally requires considerably more power than conservative single-chip designs.

Still, for enthusiasts who value open hardware and experimentation, the BS-1 stands out.

Bitaxe Naja Duo,  Two-Chip Efficiency

The Bitaxe Naja Duo is the latest and takes the opposite approach.

Rather than pushing its two BM1373 chips aggressively, the Naja Duo targets efficiency.

The unit features two BM1373 chips producing approximately 4.4 TH/s, with claimed wall consumption of around 50W.

That's roughly 11.4 J/TH, making the Naja Duo particularly interesting for miners who prioritize efficiency and low power consumption.

The biggest issue is price.

At approximately $409 USD, it carries one of the highest costs per terahash among the current BM1373 options.

What's Coming Next?

Those are some of the most notable BM1373 miners you can purchase today, but arguably the most interesting part of the BM1373 story is what's coming next.

Home miners are getting much bigger.



BSB B30,  30 TH/s Home Mining

6× BM1373 | 30 TH/s | ~430W | $799

The upcoming BSB B30 takes the BM1373 concept into another performance category entirely.

Instead of building another one- or two-chip desktop miner, the B30 uses six BM1373 ASICs to target approximately 30 TH/s.

Power consumption is expected to be around 430W at the wall, while the target price is $799 USD.

That works out to roughly:

$26.63 per TH/s

For comparison, many of the smaller BM1373 miners cost several times that amount per terahash.

The B30 represents an interesting evolution of the home-mining concept. It's no longer simply a tiny lottery miner sitting on a desk. At 30 TH/s, we're beginning to see serious hashing power packaged into hardware that can still realistically be operated at home.

It's one of the most anticipated BM1373 miners currently in development.

Hammer Glod P3,  12 TH/s in a Nano-Style Miner

Hammer also has another BM1373 machine on the way: the Glod P3.

The P3 is expected to feature three BM1373 chips producing approximately 12 TH/s.

Perhaps more interesting is its physical design. The machine is expected to use a compact form factor similar to the popular Nano 3S-style desktop miners.

Wall power consumption and final pricing have not yet been confirmed.

If Hammer can maintain reasonable efficiency and pricing, the P3 could become one of the most interesting middle-ground options between today's small desktop miners and larger upcoming machines such as the B30.

The Thor P2 narrowly follows the BS-1 on pure dollars per terahash, but its 10 TH/s output makes it a much more substantial miner.

At approximately 166W, it offers a compelling balance between price, power consumption, noise, and total hashrate.

For someone who wants a BM1373 miner today without jumping into the higher power requirements of the upcoming B30, the Thor P2 may offer the best overall balance.


The BM1373 Era Is Just Beginning

What's most interesting isn't any single miner on this list. It's how quickly the market is evolving.

At the beginning of the year, 10 TH/s from four BM1373 chips was a major milestone for home mining.

Now we're seeing 5.5 TH/s single-chip machines, 10 TH/s dual-chip miners, efficiency-focused designs around 50W, upcoming three-chip machines targeting 12 TH/s, and six-chip miners targeting 30 TH/s.

And we're probably nowhere near the end.

The line between a "home miner" and a traditional ASIC is becoming increasingly blurry. Instead of choosing between a tiny lottery miner and a 3,000+ watt industrial machine, miners are finally getting meaningful choices in between.

2026 is quickly becoming the year of the BM1373 home miner.
