How much can you earn

Wingbits is a cutting-edge project offering an exclusive early participation boost for new miners. Each Res 3 hexagon generates a daily pool of 29 $WINGS tokens, distributed among participants based on aircraft positional messages. Top performing miners can earn hundreds of $WING tokens with the average miner earning 29 tokens per day. Although $WINGS tokens are currently in TestNet and don’t yet have an official value, the MainNet launch is set for Q4 2024 on the Solana blockchain. Seize this opportunity to join a pioneering network at its early stages!

Estimate Wingbits Rewards

Asserting your location

Don't let anyone steal your hex. Take these steps after purchase:
1. Secure Your Location Post-Purchase: Once you have purchased your Wingbits hardware, it is crucial to lock in your deployment location. This ensures that the chosen spot is reserved exclusively for you, preventing others from deploying in the same area.

2. Receive Your Unique Code: After completing your purchase, you will be provided with a unique code.

3. Claim Your Location: Head to the Wingbits interactive map and enter your code to claim your desired location. Once your location is locked, it becomes unavailable to others, securing your position in the network.

Installation

Installing Wingbits is simple and efficient. For the best results, we recommend deploying your hardware with a clear line of sight at a 10-degree angle, free from obstructions. This setup maximizes visibility to aircraft, allowing you to earn higher rewards. Any factors that negatively impact the line of sight—such as overhanging trees or other obstructions—will degrade the Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) signal quality, reducing your potential earnings. The Wingbits backend system continuously monitors ADS-B signal quality and adjusts token rewards accordingly, ensuring that those with optimal setups are rewarded fairly.

Researchers and academics studying air traffic patterns, weather, and other aviation-related topics could use ADS-B data to conduct research and gather insights.

Frequently Asked Questions

On which blockchain will the project launch?

This project is currently in its beta phase, which began in November 2023, and is actively progressing through its roadmap milestones. Wingbits has selected Solana as the blockchain platform to reward participants. As there is not yet a mainnet token, no wallet is required at this stage. For now, we are implementing a reward system on the Testnet, with a target launch on Mainnet planned for Q4 2024.

What is the difference between a location hex and a rewards hex?

A location hex is a res6 H3 hex that is used to claim a station area so that no one else can also install a station within that hex. This has no effect on rewards. This hex is smaller than the res3 H3 hex to allow many participants to be part of the project and share rewards while preventing overcrowding.

A Skyhex (rewards hex) is a res3 H3 hex that is used to determine how much your miner will earn. Many miners within a res 3 H3 hex share rewards based on aircraft messages. The miner with the most messages within in that hex will earn more rewards.

What is the bandwidth requirements for this project?

Estimating bandwidth usage can be challenging as it varies significantly depending on your location. Some areas experience high daily air traffic, while others see much less. We have observed monthly usage ranging from 10 GB to well over 100 GB. Wingbits will soon introduce bandwidth reduction techniques to bring these numbers down, while still delivering all the necessary data for customers.

What are the power requirements?

The device requires constant power to earn rewards. The uptime of the device has a huge impact on rewards. Keep it online to earn more.
